Indoor and outdoor wall fountains add a touch of grace and elegance to any design.  They are simple to hang and use and can also be found in solar powered designs so that they are environmentally friendly and not a draw on the power supply.  Outdoor wall fountains must be maintained in the winter months in climates that get freezing weather so that the fountain is not damaged by the water freezing in the unit.  However, other than monitoring the water level and adding to it occasionally, these outdoor wall fountains are easy to maintain and will last for years to come.

Style and Grace

There are some exterior wall fountains that are very simple.  The back of the fountain is either lined or has some small geometric shapes on it and is made of wood, copper, or stone.  The water flows down the face of the back of the fountain and is caught in the trough at the bottom.  The small motor within the fountain then circulates the water back through the fountain so that it can be used again and again without having to be hooked to a water supply.  If the water begins to evaporate from the fountain, it is easy to add more water to the trough so that the fountain can be full again and the motor will not burn out.

There are some outdoor wall fountains that can be found for around one hundred fifty dollars.  These are usually the smaller fountains, but they come in a variety of different designs.  One such fountain is shaped like a sun with a face on it.  It is made out of a burnished bronze material and the water for the fountain comes out of the sun’s mouth and falls into the pool below.  Another such fountain in the same price range utilizes some geometric shapes in its design.  It is curved at the top into a half moon which has the shape of half a flower inside of it.  Below is a square box that has a series of smaller squares inside of it until, at the center, a water spigot is placed from which the water fountain pours out into the trough below. 

There are more decorative outdoor wall fountains that can be found and will run the consumer around two thousand dollars to purchase.  For instance, there is an outdoor wall fountain that is made of marble and has a copper, gated design going up the face of the fountain.  Above the gated design is the face of Neptune, from which the water flows into the trough below it.
